Resize the Worksheet Column and Row in Microsoft Excel 2007

In using the worksheet, there are instance where you may find some text/number just too long to fit into a column or row, this is the time when you required to resize or readjust the width of column or row to make sure the fitting is appropriate. It calls for resizing function in Microsoft Excel.

Now, open a new worksheet, you will see a workbook with default name "Book 1" that comes together with 3 blank worksheets. The column width is standardized to 8.43 and row height is standardized to 12.75. Now please input text "How to Adjust Column width" in Cell A1, then follow by inputting text "How to Adjust Row Height" in Cell A2.

What you will see next is you will find sentence in Cell A1 " How to Adjust Column Width" being cut off, part of the sentence are not visible to the reader. Has the sentence being deleted? The answer is no, the complete sentence is still there, just that now you have to adjust the column width to enlarge the cell and make the sentence visible.

You must tell Microsoft Excel 2007 what you want to do with the width, what you have to do is move your cursor in between of cell A1 and A2, the cursor will change shape from arrow to adjustment cursor. When you see the adjustment cursor, double click on it.

Immediately Microsoft Excel 2007 will adjust the width of column and make the sentence fit well into the cell.

How about the row adjustment? It is working pretty the same way it does on column. Say now we enlarge the font size to 18, again you will see the text is too large to fit into the cell. Apply the same principle, put your cursor in between of row 1 and 2 and double click. You are telling Microsoft Excel 2007 to adjust the height to fit the sentence accordingly, and you will see it responds accordingly.
