This movie shows the instrument panel of a C172 during a relatively slow half turn spin. Spin entered from a power off stall. Full left rudder applied at stall break, elevator full aft. Watch as the ball moves right initially as left rudder is applied, then back center and even left despite holding full left rudder. The airspeed creeps up from a stall despite full aft elevator as the spin develops into a spiral. The AI does not tumble in this case and the rate of turn indicator provides an accurate source of roll information to "step on the high wing" for recovery.
